145-Consumerism Revisited Part 2 Print E-mail
Written by Greg Bitgood
Part two of an interview with Professor Randal Rauser addressing the issue of consumerism in our culture and our children.

Hello fellow educators welcome to podcast number 145. It is week two of our spring break here in British Columbia and I hope all of our staff, families and students are getting some well-deserved time off. Although, I do know that many of our teachers and students are working hard these weeks particular in BC Online School as students are using the time to get caught up in their online work.

Last week we played part 1 of a two part interview on the subject of Consumerism. Let’s get started with part 2 of the interview. Randal Rauser has a PHD in Historical Theology; he is the coauthor (with Daniel Hill) of Christian Philosophy A-Z. Randal is presently the Assistant Professor of Historical Theology at Taylor University. Here is the second part of our interview:

AUDIO ONLY

I want to thank Professor Randal Rauser for this very insightful interview. As we educate and disciple our children I don’t want be guilty of missing the enormous implications of living in and being surrounded by a consumerist world. Like the proverbial fish who is the last one to recognize that he is living in water, I think we too can be the last to see the affects of living within consumerism. As educators we have to be the first to shout, “hey everybody, we live in water!”
